Our elders

Why do us people in america just forget about our elders? Once we get older society just forgets about us. Almost as if they want old people to move out the way. I learned in some countries it is just plain mental, and old people are considered young and doing young things. There was this 90 year old lady that climbs trees still until this day to pick food. That tells it all.
